HPPSA has an opening for the following positions;
5 X PEER EDUCATORS Based in WESTRAND

Key Responsibilities:

Perform outreach activities to *** Workers and their clients in designated geographical area.
Distribution of safer *** commodities (male condom; female condom; lubricant).
Condom demonstrations and promoting correct and consistent condom use.
Provide accurate health information to *** workers, especially on HIV/AIDS, STIs, TB and contraception – as well as promote healthy behaviours/habits.
Refer *** workers living with HIV for ART to nearest health facilities and to other relevant services or resources that may be needed by *** workers.
Refer HIV-negative *** workers for to nearest health facilities for PREP (if available) and to other relevant services or resources that may be needed by *** workers. If applicable, refer *** workers for PEP.
Provide and promote ART adherence support and psychological support, referral and follow-up.
Provide accurate human rights information to *** workers.
Human Rights Defense and Support, or referral and follow-up.
Distribution of IEC materials to *** workers.
Perform health related duties under supervision or by instruction of a Professional Nurse.
If applicable, do outreach with clients of *** workers and provide condoms and information.
Mobilise *** workers and clients to access HTS and other health services, including accompanying *** workers on initial visits if needed.
Prevention messaging using social media, if applicable, or other platforms, and promoting the national *** Work Hotline.

Qualifications:

Matric Certificate
Trained on HIV Testing Services (HTS)
Rapid diagnostic test obtained from Department of Health

Experience Required

2 years proven work experience as Peer Educator on a *** workers programme
Previous experience on an HIV/AIDS programme will be an added advantage
Knowledge of *** work industry eg. Brothels and streets will be an added advantage
The ability to communicate effectively in English and one local language

*** WORKER PROGRAMME MANAGER Based in Johannesburg

Responsibilities:

Manage programme implementation from initiation to closure.
Establish, monitor and manage programme objectives in line with grant and organisational objectives.
Develop and implement a programme operational plan.
Lead, motivate and support the programme team to implement the programme in line with the plan.
Lead the team in strategising and dealing with challenges.
Liaise and work with the donor to ensure successful programme implementation.
Ensure holistic programme implementation to cover all aspects of the programme requirements.
Facilitate team meetings to plan and review programme results, successes and challenges.
Ensure that the organisation completes all capacity building requirements of donor
Manage project budget and resource allocation.
Manage programme compliance with Global Fund Grant regulations
Ensure M&E is completed for the programme according to guidelines.
Ensure programme data is of a high quality for reporting.
Track and report on project milestones.
Ensure reports are submitted to donor on deadline
Establish effective working relationships with the Department of Health, Department of Social Development and the South African Police Service (SAPS) to ensure effective partnerships for the programme.
Follow-up with the Site Coordinator in cases where *** workers rights have been infringed alongside advocacy efforts.
Attend any meetings in relation to the programme. Participation in the Local Aids Councils (LACs) and District Aids Councils (DACs) and if applicable, at provincial level.
Facilitate stakeholder and engagement meetings to review programme status.

Qualifications:

Degree in Heath Science
Masters Degree in Public Health or Public Management will be an added advantage
Drivers License

Experience Required

5 years experience working with *** Health Sciences
5 years experience with community mobilization and peer education
3 years experience in HIV/AIDS prevention , PMTCT, TB , care and support programming
Experience in management of complex stakeholder relationships
Experience in managing donour funded projects

Key Competencies:

Highly organized and detail orientated;

Computer literate in Word , Excel , Powerpoint
Strong facilitation and training skills;
Report writing Skills
Financial Management Skills
Ability and willing to travel, to work under pressure and extra hours when necessary, and to meet deadlines

SITE COORDINATOR

Responsibilities:

Provide a comprehensive package of services through a network of Peer Educators to *** workers and their clients in designated programme sites, including group based support and risk reduction for *** workers.
Coordinate the activities of Peer Educators to cover all areas of designated sites under the control of the Site Coordinator.
Conduct regular meetings to discuss progress and address challenges to continuously improve programme implementation.
Monitor the activities of Peer Educators and provide necessary support to ensure the performance, confidentiality and commitment of Peer Educators.
Provide emotional support, counselling and supervision to Peer Educators.
Address any challenges and performance related issues with the Peer Educators to the Programme Manager.
Work closely with the Peer Educators to ensure successful referral and follow-up.
If applicable, perform health related duties under the supervision of a professional nurse.
Conduct regular monitoring and support site-visits to peer educators.
Work with the Peer Educators to mobilise *** workers to understand the importance of knowing their HIV status and access HIV Testing Services.
Liaison with public health facilities and other relevant role players – attending meetings etc.
Working with the Programme Manager and Peer Educators, ensure that the service providers in the area are sensitised to the needs of *** workers.
Working with the Programme Manager, ensure the implementation of the programme operational plan.
Monitor condom and lubricant stock at project sites and arrange proactive distribution by the Peer Educators.
Identify gaps of services for *** workers and strategise with the programme manager in an attempt to ensure they are filled.
Conduct regular surveillance activities to identify new or under-serviced sites and assist with formal size estimations as required.
Assist with research activities as required.

Other Requirements

Must be residing in and around the area of operation
Possess a Drivers licence
Able to work under pressure
Ability to Communicate in English and the local languages
Able to conduct quality assurance for rapid HIV testing
